I was admiring the beautiful home in this month’s cover story of Elle Interiör, the first magazine I pick up every time I arrive in Sweden. So imagine what a nice thrill it was to find myself chatting with Tina Hellberg, who styled the home for the shoot.
Tina also created the “Lovely Threads” exhibit at Formex, showing us how beautiful, fun, forward thinking and playful textiles can be.
“Textiles can be dead simple,” says Tina. “You can make a small loom from nails and a piece of wood. In nature, birds weave their nests from bits of straw and twigs, and spiders spin beautiful webs between blades of grass. Textiles can also be extremely intricate, with brand new materials and combinations, and can even be a way of recycling, by turning old plastic bags into yarn.”

Great display, Tina!
