I have a serious weakness for new books about Swedish interiors, but you knew that already!

So the moment I saw this little treasure, Mitt Hem i Stockholm (”My Home in Stockholm”) at the Kinokuniya Bookstore down the street, the purchase was a foregone conclusion.

It’s published by Editions de Paris in Japan, and will fit perfectly in with my collection of Swedish-themed Paumes books.

The book features the homes of many different designers and creative types in Stockholm, with the focus put on the handcrafted and diy touches that make the space personal.

What’s fun too is that it features homes of some of the designers we’ve also had here at From Sthlm, including Lisa Bengtsson. Here’s a peek at Lisa’s home chock full of her own lovely patterns…

On the final page of each different home they pull out some personal pieces that have a special story and a diy element.

I especially like the plate that Lisa made in honor of her grandmother. In fact I like it so much, I have it in the shop in case you’re interested ; ).

At the back there’s a section on Stockholm stores too. Seems a little random to find them here, but it’s nice to see a shout out for retro etc in amongst some other great shops they recommend.

Overall, I can’t help comparing this one to the Jeu de Paume books I have. It’s a nice addition in a space where I’m always hungry for more and I appreciate that they’re trying to throw in some English, but I still prefer Paumes. This just seemed a little too unfocused, and many of the English bits simply stated the obvious or were just unnecessary. I’ll definitely be checking out their many Paris editions though- oh la la.

Yes, believe it or not, my cravings do extend outside of Sweden.
