You may have heard some buzz about the BIG event in Sweden planned for June. Yes, that would be the upcoming marriage of Crown Princess Victoria to her boyfriend Daniel Westling. Go ahead act blasé, but you know you can barely wait… it’s a big fat Royal Wedding! WOO HOO!
The whole country is atwitter – just imagine. Beautiful young princess and someday Queen falls for her personal trainer… it’s a modern day fairytale. And everyone has their own interpretation of the event.

Textile designers Kerstin Mächs and Amanda Boierth, for one, have created Drottningholm Ockelbo – a textile love story. (Drottningholm being the gorgeous palace where Victoria grew up and Ockelbo being the quite different town where Daniel’s from.)

Each pattern depicts a part of the couple’s romance. From top right there’s their first meeting – all crowns and dumbbells floating around like lonely amoebas looking for a mate, then different worlds below. Suddenly, Daniel’s new life in the limelight.
These are more than just throw pillows, it’s the story of Daniel’s transformation from personal trainer to Prince, finally culminating in the couple’s engagement and Royal future together.
