Barbro Tryberg Boberg is bringing back bold patterns inspired by 1950’s and 60’s formica table tops and making retro feel modern again!

Under her own brand, Formverket, Barbro creates trays, trivets, cutting boards and more, that put the fun and style into hardworking kitchen basics.

But just like her clever double-sided cutting boards, there’s more to Barbro than meets the eye.

For close to ten years, Barbro served as an officer in the Swedish merchant fleet before taking a big leap to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a designer.

In 2002 the career change paid off when she launched Formverket. She now has over 40 products in production that are distributed widely throughout Sweden, Europe, and the world!

From her serene home on the idyllic island of Gotland where she also has a shop, to her city studio in a borough of buzzy Stockholm, Barbro has found a lovely way to combine the best of both worlds. No wonder her designs seem to capture that balance so beautifully.
