With a twinkle in her eye and a knack for making old things new again, Malin Ehlin’s style is a little bit vintage and a little bit rock and roll.

Malin grew up in Dalarna, the historical center of Sweden known for it’s traditional folk crafts, most notably the Dala horse.

Since then, Malin’s path has been anything but traditional. After spending a year in Madrid and two years in Salt Lake City, Utah studying Art and Communication, she returned to Sweden where she was selected to work at the Swedish Fashion Counsel.

After that she did illustrations for a Franz Ferdinand music video and won a nomination from the MTV Music Awards.

It was then that Mrs. Murphy came into the picture. Malin had been doing illustrations, design books and CD covers when she decided to create her own line of interior accessories, The Mrs. Murphy Collection. Since then, some of her pieces have even found their way into Sweden’s National Museum of Fine Arts.

So who’s Mrs. Murphy? Rather a mysterious character it turns out. Malin claims Mrs. Murphy chose her rather than the other way around. She lets Malin do all the work while she shops the world for shoes (”But she always brings me back vintage champagne,” says Malin, “so I’m pretty satisfied anyway.”)

For a burst of color and cozy patterns, Mrs. Murphy’s collection of cutting boards couldn’t be more practical… and versatile! Strong enough to slice and dice on, they can also be used as snack trays, cheese boards, place mats, or serving trays for coffee or cocktails… it’s up to you!
